Case #1

Task

A UK based security and investigations business had a requirement to enhance its business management system and processes, and set effective strategic and operational foundations for an expected period of growth.

Result

Currently working with the business to design and embed a fit for purpose integrated management system in compliance with the requirements of ISO’s 9001, 45001 and 14001. .

Case #2

Task

A UAE based security and logistics business operating through Central and West Africa had a requirement to become ISO 9001 compliant in order to be able to bid upon significant United Nations and Oil & Gas sector contracts.

Result

We conducted an initial gap analysis of the company’s business management systems and operational processes, then worked with the Senior Leadership to design and implement an ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System. The system was subsequently externally certified by a UKAS Certifying Body. During the process we also set foundations for the implementation of an effective Health & Safety Management System and completely reviewed and improved the company’s risk management processes.

Task

A Private Security Company, one of the largest in the world, required multiple audits to be conducted across various regions of the Middle East and Africa, against the criteria’s of ISO’s 9001, 45001, 14001, 31000, 22301 and 18788, and PSC.1..

Result

Our consultant successfully led audits and delivered detailed reports, set corrective actions and identified areas of non-conformance and opportunities for improvement. The process allowed the company to maintain its internal audit obligations under the 9001 standard.

Case #4

Task

An international Private Security Company, one of the largest in the world, acquired a UK based security and intelligence business. It was identified that the business significantly lacked formal strategic and operational management systems, and therefore was a threat to the certifications of the parent company.

Result

We led the integration of the parent company’s Business Management System into the acquisition company. This included conducting an initial gap analysis, then subsequently working with all applicable stakeholders to fully integrate the parent company’s Business Management System and bring the company in line with the requirements of ISO’s 9001, 14001, 31000, 22301, 18788 and OHSAS 18001 and PSC.1.

Case #5

Task

A Private Security Company, operating a fleet of more than 600 Armoured Vehicles across multiple regions of the Middle East and Africa required a review of its Land Transportation Safety Systems as a result of significant financial loss derived from vehicle incidents.

Result

Taking a phased approach, Our Consultant initially conducted a review of the company’s road safety management systems against the ISO 39001 standard, whilst also analysing four years of road safety incident data to identify incident trends, areas of concern and opportunities for improvement. Using the data derived from this process, We made recommendations for improvements to training, resourcing, supply chain risk management, and occupational road safety processes. Following presentation to the company’s board, many of the recommendations were implemented, seeing a marked decrease in vehicle incident rates and significant financial savings.

Case #6

Task

A globally recognised communications infrastructure and networks company identified a significant risk due to inability to effectively carry out health and safety focused due diligence on suppliers across multiple regions of Libya, due to deterioration in the security environment.

Result

Working in-country, utilising assistance from a private security company and my own extensive local network in Libya, We conducted multiple supplier audits against the requirements of the company’s supplier maturity assessment process and safe working practice procedures. Having identified multiple areas of significant concern, We set and monitored corrective actions, and worked with strategic service providers to improve the health and safety processes. This gave the company assurance and managed compliance risk.

Case #7

Task

A global hotel chain identified a need to review and improve its security and safety management system at a hotel in Africa, amidst a period of significant civil conflict and unrest.

Result

Our Consultant conducted a review of the current measures against the security environment, infrastructure and resource availability and requirements for compliance with international standards. We then designed and delivered an integrated safety management system including security plan, emergency response plan, risk identification, analysis and management program. The system was embedded into the site, being intertwined with the health and safety management system and requirements of multiple international standards. Supplementary to the system and to aide implementation, We also conducted and delivered a training needs analysis and exercise and testing program.
The result was a comprehensive and robust security management system, that integrated effectively into the everyday running of the hotel, rather than the original security system that ran I silo and required additional resources.

Case #8

Task

A client operating on a remote mine in Mali was unable to send internal auditors to site due to the security situation locally and regionally, and therefore lost assurance that safety management systems and ethical business practices were being implemented.

Result

Utilising a local security provider and in-country network, we were able to visit the site for a period of time, auditing the operational activities against the requirements of the clients HSE, business ethics and corporate social responsibility processes. This gave the client assurance and managed compliance, liability and reputational risk.
